You may or not be aware that the Parish Council was awarded some funding in March 2015 to set up a Flood Warden Group in the village.
The group has been working with the flood alleviation team at Derbyshire County Council for some time now attempting to find the best way to use the funding and to assist the County Council by showing them where the problems lie on the water courses.
We are able to supply residents with flood sax and sand bags should they need them and residents who have been flooded in the past have been offered this assistance already.
The County Council recommended the installation of a flood warning system in the Dam Brook and you may have noticed that it has recently been installed.
I am now looking to populate the system with information so if you are interested in receiving alerts from the system please get in touch and let me have your details.
You can choose to have messages by either text or email so if you would like to join the scheme please let me know your name, address, mobile number or email address and I will add you to the system. Similarly if you would like any flood sax or sandbags let me know and I will make the necessary arrangements.
